ECO² .. UK’s 2nd recycled kitchen
The latest ECO² Kitchen
Featuring 150mm wide pull out bottle racks and top drawer cutlery tray
2 types of recycling bins: both approved by the Code for Sustainable Housing
For 2010, we are now producing a sister kitchen to our original K.O.R.C concept and it’s called the ECO² being eco-friendly x eco-nomical in it’s specification.
The entire kitchen furniture ie: cabinets, doors, décor panels, cornice, pelmet & plinths all being made from the new Sonae ‘Urban Chic’ 18mm chipboard which has a staggeringly high 98% recycled content. Much of that coming from post consumer wood waste collected from council waste sites around the UK.
You will notice that our display shown above is in the contemporary ‘handleless’ style, which is new to this range but we can also make it in the normal way with handles. All the drawer boxes in this range will be soft close as standard.

ECO² does have 3 big advantages:
Deluxe Billet Aluminium under unit lights, LED powered
- We can offer a wider range of colours (35 in all) giving ECO² a broader appeal in terms of design and colour co-ordination.
- The cost is significantly reduced owing to a lower cost of door materials compared to the recycled plastics used on the KORC units.
- With the cabinets being of rigid construction, an extra service we offer, free of charge, is to have many of the complicated internal fitments such as: carousels, pull out larders, recycling bins and tambour doors etc. prefitted in the factory prior to delivery, making the installation much quicker and easier.
As with the KORC display, our ECO² display is also tiled up with recycled content tiles and illuminated with low energy lights. The lights on here are all high output LED’s giving an excellent spread of working light but only using a meagre 23 watts of power, silencing the critics that say that low energy lighting doesn’t give out enough light to be any use.
Both ranges, KORC & ECO² are groundbreaking in terms of environmental materials use and contribute enormously to promoting the recycling message showing that things we all throw away can be turned back into desirable & affordable fitted furniture!
For the future:
We are currently looking at the feasibility of producing both ECO² bathrooms and, maybe, bedrooms. It will depend entirely on demand … Do let us know if either of these would interest you!
