Low Energy Lighting

The type of lamps we are comparing are ceiling downlights already fitted with halogen lamps, which feature in most rooms in the modern household and under unit lights fitted in most kitchens.

The basis for this calculation assumes running your lights on average for 6 hrs a day with an approximate cost on energy figures current for Jan 2007 of around £0.13 / kw / hr.

Using the table you can personalize the calculation to suit your own circumstances.

From the figures above, for example:

If a room in your house has 6 x 50w downlights currently costing around 6 x £14.23 per year to run, that equates to £85.38
Changing to low energy, the equivalent cost would be 6 x £2.84 = £17.04

Saving a massive 80% or £68.34 just on lighting costs for that one room

All the light fittings featured on the page are available as low energy and can be ordered directly from us.

If you can visit our showroom, we have working lights to enable you to see the brightness now achieved with low energy lamps.
