Our current range of recycled plastic boards & what they're recycled from !!
|
 |
'Charcoal' boards are made from recycled vending machine coffee cups, with a high proportion coming from the “National save-a-cup scheme” |
 |
Originally made totally from pre- and post- production waste yoghurt pots, it now contains a percentage of recycled fridge liners. |
 |
'Bottles' is a multi-coloured board made out of shampoo bottles collected from council waste sites and bottle banks. |

The Red, Black and Blue Dapple boards are
made from shredded industrial foodstuff
containers, the coloured veining added at the
recycling stage
|
 |
The Dapple Green and Yellow are underground
gas pipes mixed with white plastic, Dapple Blue can also be made by using water pipes.
|
 |
Jazz boards are now made from much smaller offcuts of yellow and blue pipes and can be mixed with black and white in any combination |
'Ben' is a sheet made from reject car headlight mouldings and conservatory poly-carbonate roofs mixed with “End of use” shredded £50 banknotes. The density of notes can be varied according to how you want it to look ! Only available in 6mm thick.

Material fixing
Charcoal and Yoghurt boards can be very successfully glued using ‘Corian’ type adhesives of the right colours providing strong, barely visible joints. Although where possible we recommend using some form of mechanical fixing as back up.
For Dapple, Snowflake, Jazz and Bottles, we recommend using a screw fixing method as these types of plastic are difficult to get adhesives to stick to. The only adhesive we have found that works is Lexell Durabond. It does have a long cure time but once set, it provides reasonable strength and a good seal. CD & BEN should also be mechanically fixed unless high strength is not an issue, in which case a good quality, clear 2-part epoxy works quite well.
Points to note
- Whilst every effort is made to ensure accuracy, all board sizes are approximate and thicknesses nominal.
- Please remember that the boards are made from recycled waste material and as a result surfaces can have minor blemishes, this is to be accepted as normal but during machining and polishing these blemishes are usually removed.
- Not mentioned in the list above, sheets can be produced in "pure white" (pure white being a relative term!) in the same sizes as normal Yoghurt boards but point 2 above still applies.
- Some boards can be made at 3m x 1.5m if this would be useful, but transport charges can be high. Please ring us for details.
We are pleased to provide samples but bear in mind that these only give you an idea of what a particular board is like and general colour, every board is different!
